I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve at Ebenezer Glenn Orphanage in Dessalines, Haiti. I am going with Steve and Sheila Schieb who have partnered with this ministry since 1980. They are leading several work teams this spring to complete construction projects around the orphanage. Sheila is also a nurse and together we will be going down with the first team February 7th-17th, and working in the medical clinic. I am excited to serve, as well as glean wisdom from Steve and Sheila.
WORK TEAM GOALS: Install 2nd Floor Bond Beam on school wing addition; enclose gable ends of 2nd story main wing; finish electrical wiring; paint compound roofs; replace window screens on 5 buildings; equipment maintenance.
Besides the work on the school, other areas to help include: the medical clinic, the nursery, the teenage girls with their chores, the care of the toddlers and younger children, the classroom with the teachers, and the running back & forth between the job site and the shop, getting bolts, tools, whatever is needed!
Ministry opportunities will be on-site evangelism with the kids, the workers, Bible Study, Sunday Worship, and more.
